Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Miguel Oliveira of Portugal celebrates his victory on the podium after winning the Moto2 race of the Valencia Grand Prix at Ricardo Tormo racetrack in Cheste, near Valencia on November 12, 2017

Cheste (Spain) (AFP) - Portugal’s Miguel Oliveira rounded off the Moto2 season with a third consecutive race victory at the Valencia Grand Prix on Sunday.

World champion Franco Morbidelli came home in second with South African Brad Binder in third.

Morbidelli sealed his title triumph in Malaysia two weeks ago and extended his championship lead over Thomas Luthi, absent due to a broken left foot, to 65 points.

But despite Oliveira’s late season run, he fell just two points short of Luthi for second place in the championship standings.
